The CIA is an independent agency, headed by the Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) who is responsible for coordinating the nation's intelligence activities and correlating, evaluating, and disseminating intelligence which affects national security. The CIA is accountable to the American people through the intelligence oversight committees of the U.S. Congress.

Of course, that's not us. That's the Central Intelligence Agency in the USA. We are the Curtin Imagination Association.

We are devoted to roleplaying, gaming, literature and escapism in all it's forms. We have a sizeable book and games library and plenty of members who play a variety of games regularly. New members are always welcome.

We are a Curtin Guild affiliated club, headed by our esteemed president, supported by a capable committee, who are responsible for coordinating many events and activities for members, and correlating, evaluating, and disseminating intelligence which affects us. (Actually, it doesn't have to affect us - it just has to have some value, whether to be used for blackmail or extortion etc..) The CIA is accountable to no one! Bwhahahahahahaha!

What we stand for here at the CIA:

  • Convincing Innocent Acolytes - distributing our propaganda
  • Continuing Idiotic Arguments - role playing & gaming
  • Conning Ignorant Authorities - lying to the Guild, the police, the RSPCA ('That's not my goat')
  • Creatively Introducing Anarchism - trying to bring the end of civilization as we know it
  • Capping Influential Agitators - silencing American politicians (Whoops! Wrong CIA again!)

If you have read this far, it usually means our cunningly hidden subliminal messages have taken effect (join the CIA) and you have been subverted to our cause (resistance is useless). Use the navigation links to find out about the kind of events, activities and scams the CIA is involved in (send us all your money).

Finally some fresh blood. I'd give you a background of the CIA or regale you with tales of what this member did or how that member lost a limb doing something stupid whilst drunk but I haven't been around for that long. The club was established possibly in the year 1982, but more accurately in March of 1987 (thankyou skribe).

Well I'm sure most of you want to know what we actually do here at the CIA. So do I.
  • Tabletop gaming: The CIA hopes to bring this sort of entertainment back to Curtin in a big way. Warhammer 40k, anyone?
  • Pen and paper gaming: Stuff like dungeons and dragons or the miscellaneous whitewolf games. A lot of the people in the CIA are interested in these activities but many other members don't attend. The CIA gets Curtin to open rooms to game in on Saturday and Sunday, but other games run during the week as well.
  • JAFWA are the Japanese Animation Fans of Western Australia. They run their anime nights every Saturday on campus except for the first of each month. Since JAFWA is not a Curtin affiliated club they cannot book any venues on campus, so the CIA does so for them. As such the CIA enjoys a reduced entry fee for all of its members.
  • The Library. Huzzah! Our library is open for browsing. We do need a new librarian, however!
  • Darkzone / Zone 3: The C.I.A. likes to get its members to exercise every once in a while, so why not something fun? Zone 3 is a Laser Tag arena (like paintball, but without the pain of being hit) and the CIA usually gets you huge discounts on midnight 'til dawn sessions.
  • Movie Nights: We occasionally run movie nights that are free to all in Curtin, these typically occur on Friday nights and last for up to 6 hours. Any suggestions on when the next one should be or what we should show should be directed to the committee. ()
  • LANs: In 2007, the CIA wishes to hold LANs of its own! Join us...

Otherwise we attend the ComSSA LANs. If you want anything sci/fi, anime or gaming related there's a good chance that one of the CIA members will have it and you can leech it off them.
  • The website: The CIA is happy to publish any works of art or writings for any of its members for an indefinite period of time on this website, or at least until such time that you wish them removed or it falls apart.

Conspiracy nuts: this is not the site you're looking for.
Spammers: we have no money, so don't bother.

This site is the official website of a small club affiliated with the student guild of Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia.

The Curtin Imagination Association (CIA) promotes roleplaying, gaming and escapism in all its forms.
